Dr. Bob Arnot and Lifemax Partner to Promote Mila and Chia

Lifemax, known for Mila™, the world’s healthiest whole raw food, has partnered with renowned physician and humanitarian, Dr. Bob Arnot. Dr. Arnot—who believes in the fundamental value of whole foods nutrition and its power to combat the health issues associated with today’s western fast food epidemic—is the first official Advisory Council member to join Lifemax.

Spreading Mila Around The World as New Chief Wellness Educator

As Lifemax Chief Wellness Educator, Dr. Arnot’s vast knowledge and worldwide connections will help to expose Mila, a proprietary blend of Salvia hispanica L., more commonly known as chia, to the world. On the recent Founders’ call in which Lifemax Founders Jim and Sherri Wear announced Dr. Arnot’s involvement and introduced him to all Lifemax Independent Distributors worldwide, the Emmy award-winning medical correspondent recounted how he called governmental officials of Sudan in northeastern Africa. He requested that East African countries partner with Lifemax to do a test pilot program to grow chia using as much land as needed, with the ultimate hope of cultivating sufficient hearty crops with which to produce Mila and make it a staple product of the region. The governmental officials have opened their arms to embrace the opportunity in hopes that chia will be a sustainable crop that could change the continent of Africa.

Better Health Through Education
In his new role, Dr. Arnot plans to unpack the story and hidden value behind “The Miracle Seed,” an ancient Aztec-inspired superfood that is gluten-free, packed with omega-3s, protein, and antioxidants, and easy to incorporate into your favorite recipes. He will educate on Mila’s myriad of daily uses and infinite compositional benefits geared towards improving health conditions, overall wellness, endurance and athletic performance.

“The chia story is an extremely complex one, as is the case in any really good story,” commented Dr. Arnot. “The role of Lifemax Chief Wellness Educator is to pull together, validate and then precisely communicate and educate the public about the urgency for dietary change in America, the power of chia, the Aztec diet, and Mila. It is also important that we lay out all of the medical and nutritional advantages or Mila, and pull together diets, meal plans and therapeutic programs to the enormous benefit to the Lifemax Independent Distributors and to the public.“

“We have been seeking, for the past 18 months, the perfect fit to head up the Lifemax Council,” commented Sherri Wear. “We feel that Dr. Arnot’s dedication to promoting nutrition awareness, coupled with his vision and mission, seamlessly parallel the Lifemax World Vision and our mission to guide followers towards a long and vibrant life.”

The Myriad Benefits of Omega-3s

Omega-3 Benefits
Research studies are published almost weekly where the scientific community discovers more and more amazing Omega-3 benefits. Here are seven proven benefits you should know about:

1. Reduced Inflammation and pain
Many common diseases in the Western world, including the Fatal Five listed on the last blog post, involve chronic inflammation in the body.
(See http://www.lef.org/protocols/prtcl-146.shtml for more information).

Omega-3 can help reduce symptoms from arthritis and other joint pain, inflammatory autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, as well as reduce general inflammation in the body. which plays a role in diseases such as heart disease and cancer.

2. Cardiovascular Benefits
Heart attacks are the number one killer in the U.S. and, for many, the first symptom is a heart attack which kills them and it's too late to make changes. Prevention is better than a cure, so take care of your heart now by adding Omega-3s to your diet. They are clinically proven to lower cholesterol, LDL (bad cholesterol) and triglyceride levels, while boosting HDL (good cholesterol) levels. They can also help stabilize heart arrhythmia (irregular heart beat) and lower blood pressure.

3. Improved brain Function and memory
Pregnant and nursing mothers can greatly impact their child's brain development and intelligence by adding Mila to their diet. In adults, Omega-3 can improve memory and recall, reasoning and also focus (Adult ADD).

4. Improved mood
Researchers in the Psychiatry Department at the University of Sheffield UK, along with many other research studies, found that Omega-3 supplements "alleviated" the symptoms of depression, bipolar and psychosis. [Journal of Affective Disorder Vol. 48(2-3);149-55]

5. Reduced Incidence of Childhood Disorders
Symptoms of ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and compulsive disorders can be improved by taking Omega-3 supplements.

6. Reduced Risk of Stroke
Number 3 on the Fatal Five list of diseases, strokes are a common killer or leave the patient debilitated with a poor quality of life. When plaque builds up on the walls of your arteries and then breaks loose, it causes what's known as a thrombosis, or blood clot. If a clot plugs an artery, it causes a heart attack but if it gets stuck in the brain, it causes a stroke. Omega-3 oils have been shown to act as natural blood thinners, reducing the risk of blood clots.

7. Reduced Risk of Breast, Colon and Prostate Cancer
Omega-3 can reduce your risk of developing certain types of cancer in 3 main ways: 1. By preventing alterations that turn a healthy cell into a tumor cell 2. Blocking unwanted and uncontrolled growth 3. Causing cancer cells to die.

Signs of The Times

We live in a society where disease is rampant and obesity is an epidemic. Despite billions being spent on health care and medication each year, we just keep getting more and more sick, and we are falling further and further behind in terms of lifespan compared to other countries.

We are Fighting the Fatal Five Top Diseases:
1. Heart Attack
2. Cancer
3. Stroke
4. Lung disease
5. Diabetes

The solution lies in education and simple lifestyle changes - changes such as improving the nutritional value of the food you give to yourself and your family. Mila has no smell or flavor and can be added to any food you currently eat, yet the benefits are many.

Mila is high in Omega-3 healthy fats and has a healthy balance of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. The amount of Omega-3 oils in the seed depends on climate, soil quality, growing conditions and harvesting technique. These conditions were tested for 17 years to give Mila the highest potency, effectiveness and bioavailability when you add it to your food making it a superior quality to other seed products on the market.

There are two types of Omega-3: long-chain (DHA and EPA) and short chain (ALA). There is a lot in the media about the benefits of Omega-3 oils but usually they are referring to the long-chain fatty acids found in fish oil. Generally Regarded As Safe (GRAS) by the USDA, fish oil does have some restrictions in how much you should consume on a daily basis. It is possible to ingest too much.

Mila on the other hand, is registered as a Food and has no such restrictions because it contains short-chain fatty acids (ALA). The body converts ALA into DHA and EPA, only processing what it needs and getting rid of the rest. You can't overdose on Omega-3s with Mila!
